Every ride out of Cortina starts uphill, which makes the first couple miles of the ride very hard . Yesterday we had a short day on the schedule with a ride up the Tre Cime climb. Under a beautiful sunny sky, we left after lunch for a 35 mile ride with 5,000 ft. of climbing. It was enough. The upper part of the climb was just relentless with pitches hovering around the 15% mark.Today we will ride a loop with 6 mountain tops.I hope there will be time to inform you. Thanks for all your responses.

Beautiful views and tough climbs…wow! Hey, I just read in the Italian Cycling Journal blog that this year’s Il Lombardia (the old Giro di Lombardia race) will have the dreaded Muro di Sormano climb in it for the first time since 1962. Supposedly, it is only 2 km long but averages 15.8% and is 27% at its steepest; that’s crazy steep. You guys should sneak over and knock that bad boy off just for kicks.
I see chair lifts in the background – I think I will visit in the winter with my skis! Nice pics – keep up all the good cycling!!
